Answers
Q: Are the staff qualified to properly transliterate/translate lyrics?
A: Yes. The current staff members have had an advanced college education in the Japanese language, including speaking, reading, and writing skills. They also have prior real life experience in Japan.
Q: Why don’t you host lyrics from groups aside Johnny’s?
A: The answer is quite simple. Those groups are not a part of Johnny’s Entertainment. There are many other sites out there that host these lyrics. This site was created strictly for lyrics from Johnny’s Entertainment and nothing else.
Q: Why do I see weird characters everywhere?!
A: You are viewing this site in a different encoding. Change your browser’s character encoding to Unicode (UTF-8), usually accessed by going to View > Character Encoding on your internet browser.
Q: Can I request lyrics?
A: Yes of course! This would really help us to decide what to transliterate/translate next. But please don’t request full albums at a time or unreleased songs. Things just don’t happen that way. To request lyrics, just contact us with the artist and song(s) that you want transliterated/translated.
Q: Why aren’t un-debuted group’s lyrics here?
A: Groups that have actually debuted, have an actual CD, and have the lyrics correctly written for the entire song is much easier to get a handle on than material from un-debuted groups.
Q: Why aren’t lyrics from performances here?
A: For one, performances usually don’t have the complete song. And two, it is much more difficult to transliterate a song that comes from a video than from a sheet of paper.
Q: You made a mistake in the lyrics!!
A: Yes, we are human and make mistakes every so often. If there is an error, please report it by contacting us.
Q: Does this site make any money?
A: No it does not. This site was created by fans for fans at the cost of at least $100 per year from the maintainers.
Q: Can I become a staff member?
A: I’m sorry, we are not looking for new staff members at this time. But please keep a look out on the main page for any updates on this matter.
Q: Can I submit my lyrics?
A: Submissions are great, but we currently do not have the time to review and edit submissions. We may open up submissions in the future and give credit where it is due. Please keep a look out on the main page for any updates on this matter.
Q: Can I put Japanese/romanized/translated lyrics on my site?
A: By all means, go ahead. But do not forget to credit. Credit for romanization would be greatly appreciated, but is not necessary. Credit for translations are required.
Q: Can you link my site?
A: We will only link sites relating to a Johnny’s Entertainment group or person, Japanese music, language or culture. If you request for us to link your site, you must link back. We only exchange links with few exceptions.
